The Deputy Minister of Jihad for Agriculture raised
The necessity of forming the Supreme Council of the textile industry
Emphasizing the need to form the High Council of Textile Industry, the Deputy Minister of Jihad for Agriculture said: "The link between the industrial and agricultural sectors in the form of cotton value chains is very important and can make the country self-sufficient in cotton production."
According to "Rustaniuz", Abbas Keshavarz said at the unveiling ceremony of the stamp of the second national conference of World Cotton Day along with the exhibition of selected works of the photography competition with the theme "Cotton, white gold": "Two years ago we had a meeting with Kashmar textile industry and factories And we signed a memorandum of understanding for an important cotton crop that creates high added value.
He added: "This product is very important in the world and a day has been set for its celebration."
The Deputy Minister of Jihad for Agriculture emphasized: The second national conference of the World Cotton Day was held on October 7, 1999, but due to the spread of the corona, it was not possible to hold an exhibition and this year the ceremony will be limited to unveiling a memorial stamp and holding a photo exhibition.
Regarding cotton production in the country, he noted: "Cotton production in the country has grown well and we currently produce about 70% of the country's needs domestically;" In previous years, about 50 percent of the country's need for cotton was produced domestically.
The farmer expressed hope that with the proposed plans and the support of the agricultural and industrial sectors, self-sufficiency in cotton production and the needlessness of the textile industry will be achieved from the import of this product.
Referring to the plans of the Ministry of Jihad for Agriculture to complete the value chain of cotton products to the textile industry, he added: "Very good holding companies were created for cotton and the value chain of cotton is being completed with the participation of the country's cotton cooperatives, textile industry and industries."
The Deputy Minister of Jihad for Agriculture continued: "There is a basis for creating a value chain for cotton in industry, and only industries that have used synthetic fibers should change their approach to using cotton."
While thanking the industrial sector for supporting the agricultural sector, the farmer said: "This is the fourth year that we have no worries about buying cotton in the country and the industrial sector is also preparing a cotton harvester to help farmers."
"I agree with the formation of the High Council of the Textile Industry," he said. "In all products, if we combine the role of agricultural production with the post-production sector, we will meet the demands of farmers and the upstream industries will benefit;" Therefore, the formation of such councils is very necessary to link the agricultural and industrial sectors.
